Dr. Dina Borzekowski

 

Profile

Dina L.G. Borzekowski is an Assistant Professor and the Track Head for Health Communication in the Department of Population and Family Health Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Dr. Borzekowski's area of expertise is children, media, and health. In her research, she has and will continue to investigate how a child or adolescent’s demographics, background, and issue involvement influence perceptions of positive and negative health messages.
In her research, Dr. Borzekowski has examined a range of health issues (i.e., nutrition, eating disorders, smoking, and sexual health) among diverse samples including preschoolers, elementary school children, adolescents, incarcerated teenagers, and parents. She has considered print, radio, television, and Internet messages. Not only has Dr. Borzekowski conducted research in the U.S., but also she has worked in western Africa and Southeast Asia.
In May 2005, Dr. Borzekowski was proud to have received the Johns Hopkins Advising, Mentoring, & Teaching Award.
